This is a small kyusu made of Tokoname ware. The kyusu's spherical shape makes it easy to spread tea leaves inside and brew a delicious cup of tea.
This kyusu is produced in a kiln with a 100-year history based on Tokoname's high-quality clay and skillful techniques.
The ceramic tea strainer, called "ceramesh," is made of a very fine ceramic material and is integrated with the kyusu body.
The tea strainer is made of ceramics and is integrated into the kyusu body, so it does not have an unpleasant metallic smell or taste, allowing you to enjoy the true flavor of the tea.

Tokonameyaki refers to pottery made in the Tokoname region of Aichi Prefecture. It is a traditional craft born at the end of the Heian period (794-1185). It is considered one of the six oldest kilns in Japan and is known as a pottery that has been produced for a long time since the Middle Ages.

Tokoname ware is characterized by the use of iron-rich ceramic clay produced in the Chita Peninsula. It is said that tea brewed in a Tokonameyaki teapot is very mellow and delicious.
This is because the tannins in the tea react with the iron oxide, and the astringency and bitterness of the tea are moderately removed.
