Japanese Tea Cup Hotarude Botanical Patterns - Yunomi Chawan 有田焼 蛍出 煎茶碗
¥1,250
SOLD OUT
This Aritayaki teacup is made using the openwork technique, which allows light to pass through beautifully.
Have you ever heard of the pottery technique called "Hotarude(蛍出)"?
It is a technique of making small openwork patterns on ceramics.
The openwork is then glazed with a transparent glaze and fired, so that when held up to light, the openwork shines through brightly.
This translucent light is compared to the light of fireflies and is known as "Hotarude".
The part that touches the mouth is thinner and more pleasant to the palate, allowing the tea to be tasted more delicately.
The kumi-dashi type is a teacup that is low in height and wide in width.
This type of teacup is suitable for drinking fine sencha tea, which is known for its aroma.
It also allows you to see the color of the tea and enjoy the tea with your eyes.
These are sold separately, one by one.
