Chasen is one of the tea utensils used in the tea ceremony to stir matcha and hot water evenly in a tea bowl.
This small size of the Chasen is convenient to carry and is ideal for use with small matcha bowls for Nodate (outdoor tea ceremony).
Takayama Chasen is made by chasen artisans in Takayama, Nara, a place with a 500-year tradition.
White bamboo, the raw material for tea whisk, is dried in the sun and cold wind.
This process removes oil and water from the bamboo, giving it a shiny and beautiful white appearance. The tips of the tea whisk are more flexible and durable than those made in other countries.
Anyone can easily make delicious matcha with fluffy, fine foam and creamy finish.

Please Note: The finish may vary slightly due to the use of natural bamboo.
The Chasen on the left in the fourth picture is the standard size Chasen and the one on the right is the Nodate Chasen. The standard size Chasen is not for sale.
